By Sea

If conditions are bad or for questions contact the Ventura Harbormaster on VHF channel 16/12 or call them at (805) 642-8618.

Ventura Harbor lighted entrance buoy “2” lies at approximately La. 34°14.5’ and Lon. 119°16.8’, is painted red and is Fl. R. 2.5 sec. There is a 1500 ft. detached breakwater that parallels the coast.

From buoy “2” head for the southern end of the breakwater which is marked by Fl. G. 2.5 sec 5 miles.  Round the southern end of the breakwater and proceed mainly north to clear the southern jetty.

Proceed NE between the two jetties. They are well marked by buoys. At the junction keep to starboard (the harbormaster’s office is to port as is a housing development, Ventura Keys) and round the point with the large gray Marine Museum that sports a cupola.

You pass many docks on your starboard side with the boats oriented parallel to the shore. The outer slips of Ventura Yacht Club are facing the shore. To reach the guest dock you must turn to starboard (west) between these differing rows. The guest dock is the furthest in on your port side and is next to and parallel to the shore.

Upon arrival please contact the office which is on the ground floor by the foot of the stairwell or call on VHF 16 or (805) 642-0426.
